That’s why we are organising and hosting our own LinkedIn Local initially in Gloucestershire ( The Greenway Hotel, Shurdington ) and coming soon to Oxfordshire and we want YOU to join us.

  • No monthly commitment or costly outlay for an annual membership fee.
  • No having to get up at 6am and deliver (or listen to) torturous 60-second pitches.
  • No fatty breakfasts to eat (though there are pastries).
  • No pressure to give referrals unless absolutely warranted!



LinkedIn Locals were born in New Zealand when Anna McAfee put out a post inviting her LinkedIn connections to meet up in real life.

She used the hashtag #LinkedInLocal – it caught people’s imaginations. There are now over 1,000 hosts worldwide in 650+ cities – entirely coordinated by volunteers. The central philosophy is that the events are non-profit and non-promotional.

The focus of our Linkedin Local meeting is for you to make new commercial connections, build deeper relationships with your existing connections and learn new profit-boosting strategies.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes there is ample free parking.

Do I have to book or can I just pay on the day?

It’s better to book as we have a hard limit of 20 places (and from experiance these usually sell out quickly) It’s also courtesy to give the hotel numbers in advance.

Ticket sales close 24 hours before the event however you are free to contact carie@thewisdomworks.com after that time and if there is space, you can pay on the day.

Do I have to prepare anything e.g. a 60 second elevator pitch?

Although that’s a great thing to have prepared, these meetings are very much relaxed networking so its all about getting to know each other, making real connections and of course, swapping business cards and making further times to talk business – so bring your diary!

How often do these events run?

Currently we are running these monthly with the exception of holiday months e.g. April, August and December.

Have you any other areas planned?

Yes we are about to open up in the Whitney area in Oxfordshire.
